The results are indeed impressive and yes, very possible. It's important to note however, that while you may experience immediate results with the Derma Wand, you also should realize that it will take some repeat effort on your part to achieve and maintain those results. The inventor and owner of the DermaWand, Christina Boves, is a licensed beauty professional.

Nikola Tesla discovered the use and efficacy of using high frequency current in the 1800's. Part of what he discovered was the anti-bacterial effect of using microcurrents and it was used to treat infections prior to the discovery of modern day antibiotics. By the 1970's, beauty salons in Europe had discovered the benefits of using microcurrent on the skin and this technology started being used for cosmetic purposes to enhance facial appearance. The emergence of using microcurrent technology for facial rejuvenation found its way to the US sometime in the 1980's. Original microcurrent machines were large and costly until the Dermawand was created, offering the same treatment as expensive spas. Only now a microcurrent facelift could be done at one's own convenience using a lightweight, portable facial rejuvenation device.

Using a Dermawand is very simple and easy.  There's a clear plastic tip on one end of this device that is used to rub over your skin. On top of that is a protective clear plastic cap. Make sure to remove this plastic cap that's over inner plastic tip before your treatment.

 The Dermawand kit comes with both a small but detailed instruction book as well as a DVD. There is a small knob on the bottom of the device that allows you to control the intensity of the electric impulses the Dermawand emits. Going from 1 to 10 (ten being the highest setting) allows users to easily decide on what level of impulse they'd like to use on which parts of their faces. For example, it's very important to use a low or the lowest setting (a 1 or 2) when circling your eyes with the Dermawand. The eye tissue is especially sensitive and using the low setting on the device is sufficient for eye lifting. Make sure to either read the instruction booklet or watch the DVD before using this facial device.

Unlike some other facial microcurrent devices, the Dermawand is roughly around six inches in length with an electrical cord attached. YOU MUST REMOVE THE FIRST PLASTIC CAP FROM THE TIP OF THE DEVICE PRIOR TO GIVING YOURSELF A TREATMENT. Underneath that is another plastic cap or tip which will remain intact. This is the real working tip of the device that is applied to your skin. The Dermawand is lightweight, convenient and portable for use anywhere, anytime.

When properly used, the Dermawand does not hurt but it does cause a "tingling" sensation on the skin. That's why it's important to start on a low setting and gradually build up to higher settings to adjust to the sensation the Dermawand produces. So to answer the question, no, when used properly, the Dermawand doesn't hurt. You must make sure to set the dial on the bottom of the device correctly as the instructions indicate however. If you don't, you might end up with a high default setting on the device which could feel shocking.

It's true that many people can see immediate results after the first treatment. Some experience dramatic and immediate first time results and others experience more subtle results after their first treatment. But the overall results from using this device are cumulative so the more consistently you use it, the more gradual improvement you will witness in your face.

When I first saw this picture, I was skeptical because of the extreme changes in the side of Christine's face after having used the Derma Wand. Having now used the Derma Wand for many years, I can attest to the remarkable changes such as Christine's here.

If you have a pacemaker, a serious medical or heart condition or if you have any concerns about your heart health, this device is not for you. The Dermawand uses microcurrent technology so please be aware of that.
